At the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Porsche Vision 357 Speedster made its debut. This new concept car is a sister model of the hard-top Porsche Vision 357. It pays tribute to the classic 356 in design, and is technically a pure electric model based on the 718 GT4 e-Performance.
In terms of appearance, the front windshield of this concept car is shorter and more sloping, which further highlights the overall look of the vehicle. Covering the right side of the car is a tonneau cover that was once common on roadsters. Behind the headrest is the charging port cover and the fixture for the classic speedster soft top.
The new car uses dual gray tones of Marble Gray and Grivello Gray metallic paint, with blue accents on the details. At the same time, the new car does not use conventional rearview mirrors, but uses a camera-based streaming rearview mirror, which is installed on the front fender.
The four-point running lights on the front of the car adopt a circular design, which is reminiscent of the Porsche 356. The taillights consist of a dot pattern embedded into the body. The vertical grille structure at the rear of the car is another tribute to Porsche's first-generation model series, the 356.
As for the interior, the new car is very simple and sporty overall. Seats made of carbon fiber composite material are equipped with six-point safety belts. The transparent instrument panel is located on the top of the steering column, the racing-style steering wheel is lightweight, and the individual control buttons continue to be painted in Miami blue. The door handles are replaced with drawstrings, which is also to reduce the weight of the car body.
The Porsche Vision 357 Speedster is based on the technology of the Porsche 718 GT4 e-Performance. The motor and battery technology come from the Mission R, and the chassis comes from the 718 GT4 Clubsport. After its world premiere at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the concept car will be unveiled at the Porsche "R" show in the United States at the end of September this year.ennsport Reunion" racing party.
